AREA SOFTBALL ACTION: Moulton-Udell explodes for two wins



MOULTON — The Moulton-Udell softball team is swinging a hot bat at the perfect time. The Eagles scored 30 runs and racked up 28 hits in their two wins on Monday night. M-U beat Diagonal 13-1 in its first game and topped Seymour 17-2 in the nightcap.

The Eagles open district play on Wednesday against Cardinal.

In the first game Monday, M-U knocked out Diagonal in four innings. Kaylee Stansberry had three hits — including a homer — two RBI, and three runs scored. Kelsi Guinn and Kadrenna Sales both added a pair of hits.

Tish Stansberry, Mackenzie Clark and Brettany Sebolt each notched two RBI.

Madison Probasco allowed only one hit and one earned run to get the win on the mound.

The nightcap featured more of the same from the M-U offense. Clark drilled two home runs and finished the games with seven RBI. Kaylee Stansberry added her second home run of the day and four RBI in the win.

Tish Stansberry went 3-for-4 at the plate with one RBI and three runs scored. Guinn notched three hits and three runs scored.

Clark picked up the win on the mound with four strong innings. She gave up one hit and fanned six.
