GRINNELL — The Eddyville-Blakesburg softball team split a pair of games at the Grinnell Tournament on Saturday. The Rockets fell to Grinnell 12-11 and beat South Tama 8-7.

E-B took a 11-8 lead into the seventh inning in the opener against Grinnell. The Tigers scored four times to win the game.

Sara Lane and Trinity VanDorin each notched three hits in the loss. VanDorin also added two doubles and three RBI.

The Rockets had some late inning heroics of their own in game two. E-B scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh for the comeback victory.

Sara Lane earned the win on the mound after pitching seven innings and fanning six.

Lynsey Fenton had three hits, two RBI and a run scored. Jessica Enlow added a pair of RBI.

E-B plays at Chariton Monday.
