GOVAP concerts May 2 & 4; auditions start May 15

— OTTUMWA — The Greater Ottumwa Vocal Arts Project will present its spring concert next month and has scheduled auditions for the 2008-2009 Children’s Choruses.
The spring concert will be performed at 3 p.m., May 4 at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa and at 7 p.m. at the George Daily Auditorium in Oskaloosa.
The GOVAP Children’s Choruses also will perform at 6:30 p.m. May 2, on the Fairfield Square.
All concerts are free and open to the public.
Auditions are scheduled:
• Ottumwa — 6:30 p.m. May 15 and 4 p.m. May 18 in the GOVAP rehearsal Hall, 801 E. Main St.
• Oskaloosa — 6:30 p.m. May 22 at the McGrew Fine Arts Center on the campus of William Penn University.
• Fairfield — 6:30 p.m. May 19 at at First United Methodist Church, 201 North Court.
Acceptance to the choruses is based on talent only. Once accepted, the chorister participates in a week-long resident camp in August and then continues in September with weekly rehearsals through May.
