OTTUMWA — Clemons Inc. of Ottumwa has a new location and a new goal.

With the new facility comes new services and new employees.

“Our service deparment has really expanded. We’ve got a new tires and wheels center, new alignment rack, and we’ve added several jobs back there to increase the capacity,” said Clemons Inc. owner Joe Clemons. “We also have an automated car wash.”

Clemons said he chose the location because it is easy to get to from downtown and from the highway.

“I wanted a location that would be easy to get to for any of my customers, whether in town or out of town,” he said.

The business moved to, 2839 North Court St. on July 14.

“We are still trying to tie up all loose ends and with the bad weather we have been having in the Midwest, some of our orders for office equipment have fallen behind, so we haven’t had our grand opening yet. But, we do plan on having one with a lot of promotions to follow,” Clemons said.

The building is also handicaped accessible, with several designated parking spots, accessible restrooms and entrances.

The lot is also a lot larger.

“It is going to at least double our capacity for inventory,” Clemons said. “And our service department capacity is going to triple, and we are going to add 50-75 percent more jobs at the new location.”

Clemons said the new facility is noticiably different because there is a lot of Toyota image integrated into the buidling design.

“Through these efforts we are going to see a very large increase in our Toyota inventory,” he said.

The facitlty is 34,000 square feet and is compacted within five acres, compared to the old facility on Richmond Avenue that was more spread out.

“Business flow is so much better at the new location, 100 percent better,” Clemons said.

“I think our biggest area of accomplishment will be through the investments into this new facility,” he said.
